MONTREAL -- The near-sellout crowd at Saputo Stadium was primed for a Montreal Impact victory, but it was the Colorado Rapids who stole the show. Dee Gordon Jersey . Tony Cascio scored on a counter-attack in added time as the Rapids pulled off a comeback 4-3 victory over the Impact on Saturday night. It was the first home defeat of the season for Montreal, which wasted leads of 2-1 and 3-2 in the second half. It was also their first loss to a Western Conference opponent. "It wasnt our greatest game," said Impact midfielder Patrice Bernier. Montreal had everyone up field for a corner kick when midfielder Davy Arnaud was stripped of the ball and the Rapids counter attacked. Chris Klutes attempt was blocked, but the ball bounced to Cascio, whose shot went off Bernier and past goalie Troy Perkins for the game-winner. The sudden reversal stunned the Impact and the 20,383 fans in the seats. "I just went in to help (Klute)," said Cascio, who had entered the game as a substitute in the final minute of regular time and ended up with his first goal of the season. "No one expects it to deflect back to you, but I was in the right place at the right time and I just shot it." Another late substitute, Deshorn Brown, had tied the game in the 77th minute. Atiba Harris and Dillon Powers also scored for the Rapids (6-7-5), who ended a three-game losing run with their highest offensive output of the season. Daniele Paponi, with his first two MLS goals, and Hassoun Camara scored for Eastern Conference-leading Montreal (9-4-2), who are now 6-1-1 at home. Arnaud was in his first MLS game in nearly two months after missing nine games with a concussion. The veteran midfielders hustle helped set up Paponis go-ahead goal in the 73rd minute, but it was his turnover that led to Colorados game-winning goal. "I was trying to come inside to make a play and I got caught," he said. "It cost us the last goal. "I take full responsibility for that." The Impact may have been wiser to play cautiously in added time and settle for the draw, but they felt they could go for the win and it backfired. "We feel like we can win every game at home," added Arnaud. "That last corner, we had numbers forward and maybe we werent organized like we should have been, but we want to win the game." It was a game of defensive breakdowns at both ends for two of the better defensive clubs in MLS. "We made a lot of mistakes that gave them opportunities," said Bernier. "I wont take credit away from them. "They played their game. But since we were doing so well offensively we thought we could go and score four or five. Sometimes we have to manage the game better so the defence can have a breather. But it happens. We werent going to play 34 great games (this season)." It was the second time in as many meetings that Colorado has pulled off a late win over Montreal. In Denver last season, the Rapids were down one man but still managed a 3-2 victory. The Rapids played defensively to start, and drew some boos by dallying and slowing play whenever possible, but they got the opening goal off a free kick in the 24th minute. Lanky former Vancouver Whitecap Harris stayed at the edge of the crowd in front of Perkins and headed Powers kick inside the far post for his team-leading fifth of the season. Camara got the equalizer in the 38th minute while on his back, as Andrea Pisanus corner kick ping-ponged inside the Colorado box and the Montreal fullback got a foot on it with a semi-bicycle kick and it went in. Edson Buddle had just tipped a Harris pass off the crossbar when Marco Di Vaio run up the middle on a counter-attack and fed Paponi at the edge of the penalty area. The Italian cut inside and bent a shot inside the post in the 42nd for his first MLS goal. Di Vaio, who leads the team with 10 goals, got his first assist of the season. The Impact defence was caught standing around as Powers took a pass from Nathan Sturgis and slid it in along the ground in the 59th. Arnaud kept a Felipe Martins pass from crossing the end line and chipped it in front for Paponi to push past Clint Irwin for a 3-2 lead in the 73rd. But Brown, only three minutes after replacing Buddle, ran straight up the middle to fire a Sturgis pass behind Perkins in the 77th. "Its what happens at the end thats important and it was a bad end for us," said Impact coach Marco Schallibaum. "Thats football. "Now we have Toronto and thats another game." The Impact have their second MLS meeting of the season with TFC Wednesday night in Toronto. For Rapids coach Oscar Pareja, the game was "a hard test against a good rival. And to be honest, I thought our team deserved the victory." Notes: Arnaud started on the bench but went in for Pisanu in the 58th. . . Sanna Nyassi (hamstring) sat out. . . Colorados Shane ONeill and Dillon Serna are away with the U.S. under-20 squad, while midfielder Martin Rivero, defender Diego Calderon and goalie Matt Pickens sat out with injuries. Giancarlo Stanton Jersey . -- Brendan Leipsic had two goals and an assist and Nicolas Petan extended his point streak to 11 games as the Portland Winterhawks slipped past the Red Deer Rebels 5-4 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action. Jose Fernandez Jersey .A. remained bitter for Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers on the long flight back home to New York. . However, Therrien added that Galchenyuks status for next Wednesdays game against the Detroit Red Wings is questionable. Galchenyuk has been out since Jan. 6 with a broken right hand.PITTSBURGH -- Sidney Crosby, Chris Kunitz and Lee Stempniak have been playing together for less than two weeks. Funny, they looked like longtime friends during Pittsburghs 5-1 demolition of Dallas on Tuesday night. Quick to the puck and even quicker to the net, the Penguins top line overwhelmed the suddenly struggling Stars as Pittsburgh bounced back from a dismal weekend sweep at the hands of Philadelphia by jumping on Dallas early. Crosby scored his 32nd goal less than 5 minutes in, added his 33rd early in the third period and dished out an assist on Stempniaks first goal with the Penguins to push his point total to an NHL-leading 91. More importantly, Pittsburgh hardly looked like the team humbled by the Flyers during a forgettable home-and-home sweep. "We werent happy with those losses, we have to do better," Crosby said. "We wanted to make sure we went out there and played hard. Its a desperate team were playing and hopefully we can build that same emotion, same intensity we had tonight and carry it over to the rest of the season." Kunitz chipped in his 32nd goal after skipping two games with a leg injury and added an assist. Brandon Sutter pushed in a late short-handed goal and Jeff Zatkoff stopped 32 shots to win for the 11th time in his past 14 games. Tyler Seguin scored his 31st goal for the Stars. Kari Lehtonen made 27 saves, but Dallas slumped again on the road. The Stars have been outscored 12-3 over their past two games to slip out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. "I think you cant blame one guy for any of the goals," Seguin said. "This is a team matter were going to deal with. Its just about execution. Weve been showing glimpses of it lately, but too many breakdowns." A no-no when playing Crosby. The Pittsburgh captain seemed energized by the return of Kunitz. Reunited against a scuffling team trying to make a late run at the post-season, Crosby and Kunitz helped the Metropolitan Division-leading Penguins rebound by playing with the chemistry that makes them one of the most potent one-two combinations in the league. The game was less than 5 minutes old when Crosby put Pittsburgh in front. Fourth-line forward Craig Adams -- finishing out his shift -- dug out a loose puck in the corner and fed it to Crosby darting through the slot. Miami Marlins Jerseys. Crosby deked past Dallas defenceman Sergei Gonchar then held the puck long enough for Lehtonen to commit before slipping the puck into an open net to give the Penguins some welcome momentum. Seguin tied it at 12:30 into the first with a pretty deflection off a Trevor Daley shot from the point, but the game was tied less than three minutes before Kunitz pounced on a rebound off a Stempniak shot to put the Penguins in front to stay. The Penguins acquired Stempniak from Calgary on March 5 hoping the veteran forward could patch the hole on the first line that hasnt really been filled since Pascal Dupuis was lost for the season with a knee injury in December. After a series of near misses in his first six games with Pittsburgh, Stempniak finally broke through 13:21 into the second period. He skated into the zone and dropped the puck to Crosby and sprinted to the net. The puck was on Stempniaks stick again a split second later as Kunitz hit him streaking through the slot. Stempniak knocked it in for his ninth of the season while getting tripped by Dallas Brenden Dillon in the process. "Its been a little while, its nice to get a goal," Stempniak said. "Great passing play from Sid to Chris. I went to the net and it was on my tape ... Sids so dynamic, he opens up a lot. Chris has a great shot. I just try to fit in and skate and keep up." That was more than enough for Zatkoff, who made two glove saves in the second period during Dallas best sustained pressure. Crosby banged in a rebound 1:56 into the third to push Pittsburghs lead to three and the pressure that had built after dispiriting performances against the Flyers -- games in which the Penguins said they were more concerned with the way they played than the actual score -- lifted. NOTES: Pittsburgh is 42-5-4 this season when Crosby collects at least one point. ... Dallas has lost three straight for the first time since a six-game skid from Jan. 2-12. ...
